2:08 p.m. Tuesday — Michael R. Sparks, 30, was arrested after he allegedly pointed a BB gun at a woman and threatened to kill her during a domestic dispute at his home on the 300 block of West North Street.

The victim, according to court documents, told police that Sparks got upset and pulled an unknown gun, telling her that he was “going to kill” her. She claimed that at one point he pulled the trigger on the firearm but it only clicked.

She left but Sparks subsequently sent her text messages, including one that said he would “put a bullet in ur (expletive) head,” documents said.

Police later arrested Sparks, who handed over the gun, which turned out to be a BB gun.

He was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats and simple assault, and was placed in Butler County Prison on $25,000 bail.

Monday — John L. Schnur Jr., 48, of Clearfield Township was charged with being more than three times the state’s legal limit for alcohol March 31, when he was stopped for speeding in Clearfield Township.

Police said they pulled over Schnur about 7:40 p.m. for going 74 mph in a 55 mph zone on the 1300 block of Route 422. He admitted his driver’s license had been suspended for about 30 years, according to court documents.

Schnur also allegedly acknowledged that he had consumed alcohol earlier that day. He subsequently failed field sobriety tests and was taken for a breath test that indicated his blood-alcohol was 0.259 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.

Schnur is charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license-DUI related, speeding, driving too fast for conditions, careless driving and reckless driving.

April 4 — A Mercer County man was charged with drunken driving stemming from a traffic incident last month in Muddy Creek Township. Police said they found the defendant, James M. Iman, 50, of Greenville, standing next to his vehicle with a cell phone on Route 422.

Iman appeared impaired, according to court documents, and a search of his vehicle turned up two crack pipes and beer cans, one that was open.

He failed field sobriety testing and was taken for a breath test, police said, which showed his blood-alcohol was 0.115 percent.

In addition to DUI, Iman is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, improperly stopping a vehicle on a road, driving with an open container of alcohol and careless driving.
