UPDATE (6:15PM): Whitestown Road is closed between South Duffy Road and Home Avenue. Traffic being diverted down Home Avenue and Garden Avenue.

UPDATE (5:34PM): A state police forensics services unit is on the scene performing an investigation. One person appears to be in custody in the backseat of a police cruiser. Volunteer firefighters from Butler Twp are also on the scene.

A state trooper was injured in a crash that occurred while he was pursuing a vehicle on Whitestown Road near South Duffy Road in Butler Township Friday afternoon.

The condition of the other driver isn't known yet.

Police from the township and Butler responded along with state police.
