The Academies
As an entrepreneur of three beauty academies, Linda L. McCarren has a deep passion for the beauty industry, as well as a compassion for all of her students.
McCarren’s goal is to provide a professional atmosphere conducive to the students’ education. The Academies are well known as being progressive educational institutions that prepare students to initiate and advance their careers in the beauty field.
McCarren drives her school on compassion and education. The Academies strive to educate students of all ages, cultures, and genders. At the Academies, the staff that McCarren oversees works day in and day out to make sure our future professionals are able to take their given career paths and turn them into a successful life step.
McCarren feels the beauty industry is ever changing; that’s why her institutions work so hard to train all students on the up and coming trends in the hair, nail, and skin care fields.
McCarren has deep seated roots in the Butler community. Her husband, Mike, was a third-generation business owner of McCarren Clothing store on Main Street in downtown Butler for 77 years. McCarren is dedicated to being involved in the community and the other small businesses in the area. She has her Academies volunteer time at several community events.
When she purchased the Butler, Kittanning, and New Castle Beauty Academies, she realized she wanted to keep the strong community values with a fresh breath of modern times.
All three Academies offer the cosmetology, esthetician, nail technician, and teacher training courses. The Academies are nationally accredited and financial aid is available to those who qualify.
“My motto on my website, beautyacademies.net, “We Change Lives,” is the way I look at how we build careers and create jobs for the community,” McCarren said.
