Cranberry Twp. woman arrested in fatal accident

PITTSBURGH — A Beaver County man who was dragged a half-mile behind a vehicle following a domestic dispute Friday in Cranberry Township died Saturday.

According to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office, Ryan Minett, 27, of New Brighton, died Saturday at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh after sustaining injuries in the incident.

The official cause of death is listed as “blunt impact injuries to head, torso and extremities.” The report lists the manner of death as a homicide.

Jessica Royall, 28, of Cranberry Township is being held on $50,000 bail on aggravated assault by vehicle and other charges filed by Cranberry Township police Friday night, according to Butler County Prison.

Township police arrested a woman Friday, who they declined to name, following a domestic dispute in which Minett was said to be hanging on to a vehicle the woman was driving on Cross Creek Road for more than a half mile before he fell off and was injured at 4:30 p.m.

Cranberry Township Police Sgt. Chuck Mascellino said Minett was dragged for about 2,800 feet.

More charges could be filed, he said.
