ADAMS TWP — Police arrested a township man Monday after responding to reports of an assault at the man's residence.

David Moser, 57, is charged with assault and harassment after he allegedly attacked a woman when she tried to turn the volume of his radio down.

He is free on a $5,000 cash bail.

Officer Michael Bordt of the township police responded to the call at around 8 p.m.

According to the woman, Moser was in the basement playing loud music. She told officers that she has Asperger's syndrome and that the music was giving her a headache so she went to the basement and tried to turn the radio down.

“When she did this ... Moser pushed her to the ground,” Bordt said. “Once she was on the ground he slapped her in the face and repeatedly hit her in the face with his hat.”

Afterward, the woman then went upstairs and took a photograph of her face.

Moser admitted to pushing the woman but denied slapping her in the face.

“He did say that his hat got knocked off, and he may have hit her in the face with it at some point,” Bordt said.

Officers looked at the photo the victim took of her face and noticed a red mark which was still visible when they arrived on the scene.

The woman also told officers that this was not the first time Moser had “become physical” with her and that she did not feel safe staying with him that night.

Officers then took Moser into custody and transported him to the jail.

His preliminary hearing is set for March 20.
