SCOTT TOWNSHIP — Authorities say a pickup truck went out of control and plunged over a hillside near Pittsburgh, killing an 18-year-old and injuring three juveniles.
Allegheny County officials say one of the juveniles was driving and three others were riding in the bed at the time of the crash shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday in Scott Township.
The three people riding in the bed were thrown from the truck and the county medical examiner’s office says 18-year-old Cameron Arlotta of Pittsburgh was killed.
The two others and the driver were taken to a hospital and listed in stable condition. County detectives and an accident reconstruction team are investigating the cause of the crash.

MCKEESPORT — Fire officials are crediting a cat with saving the lives of its owners, who were sound asleep when a fire broke out in their home.
The blaze apparently started in the attic of the home in McKeesport, about 12 miles south of Pittsburgh, around 1 a.m. Friday.
Deputy Fire Chief Tom Perciavalle told a TV station there were no smoke alarms in the house, but the cat made sure to wake up the couple.
He said “fortunately the cat was on top of his game” and it potentially saved their lives.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Officials broke ground Friday on the expansion that will bring about 110 new jobs to the area in Luzerne County.
Todd Tillemans, president of Hershey’s U.S. business, told a newspaper the plant in Hazleton is long been a high performer and it was clear the company should expand there.
The new jobs are expected to pay between $17 and $22 per hour.
