Smoke detector saves man from Irene Drive fire
Howard Killmeyer fled his house on Irene Drive to safety Sunday afternoon after hearing his smoke detector go off. He lost everything except his minivan, he said. Fire crews stayed at the scene from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. No injuries were reported.
