9:13 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Erica L. Schwoegl, 20, of Allison Park, Allegheny County struck a pickup truck at Branchton and Harmony roads in Slippery Rock Township. Mark B. White, 28, of Slippery Rock was the other driver.

No one was injured but both vehicles had to be towed. Police cited Schwoegl for a stop sign violation.

March 1 — Tyler J. Karch, 29, was charged with drugged driving stemming from a domestic-related call last month at his home in Summit Township.

Police said they were called shortly before 11:30 p.m. Feb. 12 and arrived at the home on Jodi Lane. Karch was gone but while troopers were investigating he returned, driving his car.

He appeared impaired and admitted to using the prescription medications Suboxone and Klonopin earlier that day, according to court documents.

Police arrested him for suspicion of driving on drugs and he was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology reports confirmed he had both medications in his system as well as amphetamine and marijuana.

In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, Karch is charged with harassment in connection with the initial domestic call.

Police also cited him for careless driving, failing to carry his driver’s license, driving with an obscured license plate and a lighting violation.

Feb. 28 — Police charged an Allegheny County man with drunken and drugged driving in connection with a call for an erratic driver last month in Cherry Township.

A 911 caller reported Feb. 12 that the driver, later identified as David P. Schultz, 51, of Allison Park, was on Route 308 and nearly struck several vehicles head on, according to court documents.

Police eventually found Schultz’s northbound pickup truck in the southbound lane on Route 308 in Venango County and conducted a traffic stop. He stopped in the middle of the road.

The defendant appeared “severely impaired,” documents said, and he told police that he thought he was in Shaler, a township in Allegheny County that is around 75 miles to the south of where he was stopped.

He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which showed he had alcohol and marijuana in his system.

Schultz is charged with driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and driving with an open container of alcohol.

7 a.m. Feb. 20 — Kyle J. Duncan, 21, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence following a crash on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township. Charges are pending.
