JEFFERSON TWP — While South Butler School Board normally meets at 7 p.m. the first and second Wednesdays of each month, the March 14 board meeting has been moved to the third Wednesday because of the teachers’ March 15 strike date.

The school board at its Wednesday night meeting voted 8-1, with George Zacherl dissenting, to switch the March 14 meeting to March 21.

The reasoning given by the board was that district and union negotiators may need to meet on March 14 to hammer out a last-minute agreement and prevent a strike.

Zacherl did not give a reason for his “no” vote.
