Oil field service provider lauded

DWS wins 2nd safety award

ZELIENOPLE — A local company has received an award for excellence and safety for the second year in a row.

Deep Well Services received the Northeast Oil & Gas Award for Excellence in Health and Safety at the 2018 Northeast Oil & Gas Awards gala dinner held March 1 at the Westin Convention Center in Pittsburgh.

“Earning this award two years in a row has a special significance to our Deep Well Services team,” said Mark Marmo, president and CEO of DWS. “This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire field organization under the leadership of our safety professionals.”

Last year, DWS achieved the American Petroleum Institute Specification Q2 certification for drilling service providers and the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems certification, something the judges found exemplary.

“The biggest thing for us is having a safety program that is fully committed to the growth of our employees,” said John Sabo, vice president of marketing and business development.

This program focuses on both the employees’ health as well as their long-term career development and engagement in the company culture.

This is aided, Sabo said, by the company’s emphasis on hiring local workers and policy of promoting from within when possible.

“It’s been an evolution and we are constantly working on improving as well,” he said.

DWS is an oil field services company that specializes in general site and pad well services in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York and West Virginia.
