A Farmington man pleaded guilty to charges in three city cases, including trespass and theft, in Butler County Court on Wednesday.

Matthew G. Hibbard, 22, pleaded guilty to felony criminal trespass, misdemeanor theft and summary criminal mischief before Judge William Shaffer.

The plea agreement calls for a sentence of 3 to 24 months in Butler County Prison, with restitution and fines, followed by probation.

Hibbard was initially charged with felony criminal trespass and summary criminal mischief in an incident at a home on State Street on Aug. 10.

One of the tenants, a woman, was upstairs taking a shower when she heard someone outside the bathroom door. She recognized Hibbard's voice, according to court documents, and called her boyfriend on her cell phone.

She stayed in the bathroom until her boyfriend returned home. But by then, Hibbard was gone. Nothing was missing from the house but the occupants found a broken plexiglass window on the back door. Damage was estimated at $50.

He pleaded to the summary charge in that case.

Hibbard was also charged with felony burglary, criminal trespass and misdemeanor theft after an incident in the 100 block of North Monroe Street on Aug. 14.

Police said he entered the home through an open rear door, and took about $250 worth of coins.

Fingerprints led to his identification.

He pleaded guilty to felony criminal trespass in that case.

Hibbard was also charged with misdemeanor theft and access device fraud after an incident at the YMCA on North Washington Street on Aug. 23.

Police said he stole a ring, valued at $795, as well as a credit card and money from a man's locker.

The victim later checked his credit card statement and found two fraudulent transactions at a pair of city stores, according to court documents.

Police reviewed surveillance video from one of the stores and an officer recognized Hibbard.

He pleaded guilty to the theft charge in that case.
