Man hospitalized after flipping SUV in Lancaster Township
LANCASTER TWP — An unidentified man was transported to a Pittsburgh hospital Wednesday evening after his SUV flipped over in the middle of Whitestown Road.
Driving east, the man, who was alone in the vehicle, swerved his Chevy HHR into an embankment on the north side of the road and it rolled onto its roof at 4:24 p.m., township police said.
Patrolman Eric Magness said the man was partially entrapped. Magness said it took about 10 minutes for the Harmony Fire District firefighters and Harmony EMS staffers to remove the man from the vehicle.
Afterward, the man was transported by Harmony EMS to Allegheny General Hospital for unknown injuries.
The accident blocked traffic on both sides of the road, where many motorists were redirected. The SUV was towed from the scene at 5:15 p.m.
