Community Life, Church, 1104 Pittsburgh Pike Road, will have a welcome luncheon Sunday.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., receives the noisy offering of loose change at the Sunday worship service.

The property committee meets at 6:30 p.m. today in the assembly room and the session meets at 7 p.m. today in the assembly room.

EMLENTON PRESBYTERIAN

The second in a series of Emlenton area Lenten services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Emlenton Presbyterian Church, 508 Main St. The Rev. Johnathan Schmolt of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church speaks at the service and there is an offering for the FISH Food Cupboard. Refreshments follow the service. FAITH UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Dave Fox of Butler is the guest speaker and leader for the Sunday worship service at Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main St. Ext. The guest pianist is Joan Courtney of Prospect.

FIRST BAPTIST

Women’s missionary fellowship meets from 10 a.m. to noon today at First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St.

The senior class of First Baptist Christian School has a Valentine’s banquet at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road.

There is an additional Sunday service at 6 p.m.

The Deaf Café is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Baptist Youth Center. There is fellowship, a devotional and a guest speaker for this brown bag lunch.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., hosts Ryan Ebner, gift planner from the ELCA Foundation, at Sunday worship services. His brief presentation describes financial planning for leaving a legacy to family and to ministry.

The BALM Ministries Wednesday Lenten supper and worship service is at Rider Lutheran Church, Rider Church Road, West Sunbury. Supper is at 6 p.m. and worship is at 7 p.m.

GRACE @ CALVARY

Grace’s Closet, a free clothing bank at Grace @ Calvary, 123 E. Diamond St., is open from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

A fourth Sunday gathering is from 9 to 9:45 a.m. in the room across from Grace’s Closet.

GLOW meets after Sunday worship. Lunch is included.

The church participates in Lenten worship with BALM churches Wednesday at Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury. Supper is at 6 p.m. and worship is at 7 p.m.

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The adult choir of Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., rehearses at 7 p.m. today.

Adult Lenten Bible study is at 10 a.m. and 7:15 p.m. Wednesdays.

Kids Club welcomes donations of fruit and vegetable trays, cookies and juice pouches. The sign-up sheet is near the church library entrance.

There is a one great hour of sharing offering throughout Lent.

JEFFERSON CENTER

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

A Lenten soup and sandwich lunch is at noon Friday at Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars. Gregg Hartung is the guest speaker.

The Rev. James Steiner leads both Sunday services.

The youth group meets at 6 p.m. Sunday in the youth room.

GriefShare is at 6:30 p.m. Mondays in the library.

NORTH MAIN STREET CHURCH OF GOD

Tickets are on sale for the annual women’s Good Friday breakfast at 7 a.m. at North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Ext. The guest speaker is Kim Neal. The theme is “Value in the Crushing.”

The next connection dinner is at noon March 4.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., joins other downtown churches for a midweek worship service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St. There are refreshments after the service.

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Connoquenessing, 100 Main St., celebrates the second Sunday of Lent during the Sunday worship service. This is the last opportunity to donate to the Evans City Food Cupboard this month.

The BALM evening Lenten service is Wednesday at Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury. Supper is at 6 p.m. and worship is at 7 p.m.

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN

The outreach committee of St. John’s Lutheran Church, 420 Beaver St., Mars, meets after the Sunday worship service.

A soup lunch and Lenten worship is at noon Wednesday.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

The senior high youth group of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, meets at 7 p.m. Friday.

The 9:30 a.m. Sunday worship service includes Communion.

The sanctuary is open from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday for community quiet time and prayer.

The sewing ministry meets at 10 a.m. March 1.

ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL

St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., begins first Holy Communion classes Sunday with parent orientation. Classes are at 9 a.m. Sundays.

St. Mark’s hosts the weekly ecumenical Lenten service at 7 p.m. Wednesday. A reception follows the service.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, has a Lent service at noon Wednesday. Self-guided stations of the cross are available after the service.

The BALM Lent worship service is at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury. Supper is before the service at 6 p.m.

VALENCIA PRESBYTERIAN

The 4:12 youth group of Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., participates in World Vision’s 30-Hour Famine starting at noon Friday and ending at 6 p.m. Saturday.
