Dayvon V. Williams

An Allegheny County man was paroled in Butler County Court on Tuesday, after being charged with burglarizing a home and stealing several firearms.

Dayvon V. Williams, 22, of Swissvale, was immediately paroled after being sentenced to 11½ to 23 months in Butler County Prison by Judge William Shaffer.

His parole will be followed by one year of probation. He was also ordered to pay court costs and $257 in restitution.

Williams pleaded guilty Jan. 17 to felony theft.

He was also initially charged with two counts of felony burglary and criminal trespass as well as two counts of misdemeanor criminal mischief and one count of loitering and prowling at nighttime after an incident at 105 Weaver Lane in Slippery Rock Township on Aug. 16, 2016.

According to police, Williams broke a window to get into a garage at around 10 p.m. He also damaged a metal exterior door trying to enter the garage.

Police said Williams tried to steal a dirt bike from the garage and then broke into the house and stole numerous firearms, including rifles and shotguns, several hunting bows with accessories and a black bag valued at more than $3,700, according to police.

Williams was later caught by the Homestead Police Department with the stolen items, except for a .22-caliber rifle.

He apologized during Tuesday's proceeding.
