Trump postpones trip to Ambridge HS
President Donald Trump’s campaign committee announced Thursday that a rally planned for next week in Ambridge, Beaver County, has been postponed in light of the deadly school shooting in Florida.
The rally was scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday at Ambridge High School, but is has been pushed back “out of respect and sympathy for the victims and survivors,” according to the campaign.
The president also canceled an official trip to Orlando, Fla., but said that he would be going to Parkland, Fla., to visit with local officials and families. Seventeen people were killed by a gunman at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Wednesday.
Trump held a campaign event in Ambridge in 2016 and he visited Western Pennsylvania earlier this year, greeting people at an invitation-only event at Pittsburgh International Airport.
A new time and date for the rally has not been announced. Free tickets were still being offered Thursday at donaldjtrump.com.
