An Illinois woman was sentenced to time served in Butler County Court on Wednesday, after pleading guilty to possession of stolen credit card information.

Dyshuna Brooks, 29, of Chicago, was sentenced to time served to 12 months in Butler County Prison by President Judge Thomas Doerr, and was immediately paroled.

She was also ordered to pay court costs and complete 40 hours of community service.

Brooks previously pleaded guilty to felony conspiracy to commit access device fraud and receiving stolen property on Jan. 31.

She was also initially charged with felony access device fraud and misdemeanor possession of an instrument of crime, which were dismissed as part of the plea.

Cranberry Township police charged Brooks along with Donnella White, 29, also of Chicago, after an incident on Sept. 2 at the Applebee's restaurant in Cranberry Township when the two women attempted to use fraudulent credit cards.

The affidavit of probable cause states the women attempted to buy 20 $50 gift cards using a Green Dot card, which was denied.

Following the incident the manager of the restaurant received a phone call from a man stating that he received an alert that someone attempted to purchase $1,000 in gift cards from the location using his information.

Police said White and Brooks were found in possession of Green Dot cards, which “are typically used to make purchases with someone else's credit card information,” the document states.

Inside White's vehicle, police said, multiple other gift cards were found, totaling $3,000. Also found was a list of credit card information with Pennsylvania addresses and email addresses, the document states.

Police said White admitted to using stolen credit card information to purchase the gift cards throughout Western Pennsylvania.

White previously pleaded guilty to felony conspiracy to commit access device fraud, access device fraud and receiving stolen property and was sentenced to 3 to 12 months in the Butler County Prison followed by 30 months probation.
