Staffing agency to join Career-Link Butler County
Erie based staffing agency Career Concepts is opening in PA CareerLink Butler County on Friday.
Career Concepts will be one of many partner agencies that operate in the CareerLink office in Pullman Commerce Center, 112 Hollywood Drive to help people find jobs and help employers find employees.
“We’re a full service staffing agency,” said Jess Ryan, branch manager of the Career Concepts office in CareerLink.
Employers can contact Ryan and tell her about their job openings and the types of candidates they are looking for. She will also visit the job site to learn about the available jobs, prospects for advancement, pay and benefits.
Then Ryan will hire existing or interview new clients to fill the jobs. Most jobs are filled on a “temporary to hire” basis.
Ryan said the initial temporary hiring allows employers to assess the employees while they are bing paid by Career Concepts.
The hiring company begins paying the employees after they work a predetermined number of hours, she said.
Career Concepts works with a variety of employers and jobs, and can conduct employee testing, background check and drug screening, she said.
“There is no fee to use our service at all,” Ryan said.
CareerLink opens from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and Career Concepts will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. the same days.
“Career concepts will be able to hire on the spot if (candidates) pass background checks and things like that. I’m excited to have them as one of our partners,” said Susan Bowser, CareerLink administrator. “We’ve had staffing agencies as partners in the past and it was awesome.”
Some of the other employment service partners and programs that operate in CareerLink include the Bureau of Workforce Partnership and Operations, Career TRACK, Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, Veteran’s Employment Services, adult literacy at Butler County Community College, AARP Senior Community Service Employment Program and Welfare Initiative programs.
“The whole purpose is we want to help people find jobs and this is going to be a wonderful addition. It’s another option and a good option so we’re excited about that,” Bowser said.
