[naviga:h3]Moraine Park programs planned[/naviga:h3]

Moraine State Park will have the following programs:

2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, “The Making of Moraine — Creating a New State Park” at Presbyterian Church of Portersville, 1297 Perry Highway, Portersville. Discover how local land use changed from the 1940s to the opening of Moraine State Park in 1970. Polly Shaw, author of the book “Images of Modern America Moraine State Park,” will share images and insights of life in the Muddy Creek Basin

1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 3 “Ground Hog Stomp” near fishing pier, past Park Region 2 office, 195 Park Road, Prospect. Bundle up and celebrate our Pennsylvania holiday rodent with a hike on a scenic section of the Wyggeston Trail. Weather and your preference will determine the distance for this moderate to rugged hiking terrain.

[naviga:h3]Preston Park sets walking tours[/naviga:h3]

BUTLER TWP — Butler Township will offer public tours of Preston Park, including the residence and the grounds, on the following dates:

9:30 a.m. April 28

9:30 a.m. May 12

6 p.m. June 20

9:30 a.m. Sept. 19

9:30 a.m. Oct. 13

9:30 a.m. Nov. 24

This two- to three-hour walking tour is free but registration is required. Spaces are limited.
