Headquarters space up for rent
CRANBERRY — Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking to rent 315,000 square feet of its headquarters.
The move comes as the company looks to cut costs amid its bankruptcy and subsequent sale to Brookfield Business Partners.
“(The space) is being marketed for sublease in support of our corporate transformation,” said Sarah Cassella, external communications manager. “Over the last several months we have focused on optimizing the use of our real estate properties globally, allowing our businesses to operate more efficiently.”
The list of amenities includes free parking, an employee cafe and workout rooms, as well as easy access to highways and nearby hotels, stores and restaurants. Chelsea Puff, Cranberry Township manager of business and economic development, said those features could be attractive to potential renters.
“Some of the space is up for lease and I think that’s a great opportunity for us,” said Puff. “We have a high demand for office space and a very low vacancy rate.”
Puff estimates the space could host around 2,000 jobs.
