Ernest Kaluza
Ernest Kaluza, 88, of Butler, formerly of Tarentum, passed away Wednesday at the Saxony Health Center in Saxonburg.
Born July 1, 1929, in Natrona, he was the son of the late Julius Kaluza and Marie (Hrtanek) Kaluza.
Ernest was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He retired after 46 years working in the maintenance department for PPG in Creighton.
He was a former member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church and formerly attended St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Herman.
Ernest was a member of the Slovak Club. He loved dancing, classical music, watching birds and was an avid groundhog hunter. He loved being around his family.
Surviving are his loving children, Patricia Snyder of Atoka, Tenn., Nancy (Jay) Smith of Butler, Jerome Kaluza of Butler and Scott Kalzua of Tarentum; four grandchildren, Megan (Lance) Nimmo, Mark Smith, Molly (Craig) Stauffer and Erin Masserallo; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerome and George Kaluza; and his sisters, Blanche Klemens and Rose Kaluza; and his half siblings, Paul and Tillie.
KALUZA — Friends of Ernest Kaluza, who died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Fox Funeral Home, 410 W.
