BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68, will have Chrisann Green singing the special music Sunday.

CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

The office of Christ Community United Methodist Church 205 North Duffy Road, will be closed Thursday, Friday and Monday.

Church services will return to the regular times Sunday.

The St. Vincent DePaul food cupboard work team will meet at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Volunteers are needed for the First English Lutheran Church community dinner work team.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will have two worship services Sunday. The morning worship service and fellowship hour will begin at 11 a.m. At 3 p.m. there will be an all-area church worship service with Covenant and other church choirs, as well as clergy and musicians from area churches participating.

FIRST BAPTIST

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will begin Sunday services at 9:45 a.m. with Sunday school classes followed by an 11 a.m. worship service. There will also be a 5 p.m. New Year’s Eve dinner and service in the Baptist Youth Center.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., will have a single 10 a.m. Sunday Lessons and Carols worship service.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will have GLOW youth ministry for children ages 5 to 12 from 11:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Lunch will be served. Parents are invited to stay.

The church office will be closed Monday and will reopen Tuesday with new office hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Wednesday.

Butler Relay For Life will meet at 6 p.m. Jan. 8.

The finance committee meets at 6:30 p.m. and the worship and music committee meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Ladies’ Night Out is at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 4 at Rock Ann Haven, 141 Greenwood Drive. All ladies are invited to join in the evening.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

GraceWay celebrates the New Year during its 10 a.m. Sunday worship service.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., will have the loose change offering to benefit the Deacons’ ministries at the Sunday worship service.

James Steiner will deliver the message.

The choir will rehearse at 9 a.m. Sunday and sing during the worship service.

The church office will reopen Tuesday.

RIDER LUTHERAN CHURCH

The Sunday service at Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury, is a service of lessons and carols with favorite Christmas hymns. Communion is included in the service.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will have a Christmastide Festival of Lessons, Carols and Music at 3 p.m. Sunday. The program will feature readers and musicians from local Presbyterian churches. There will also be a joint vocal choir, a joint handbell choir and congregational singing.

The new flower calendar is hanging in the narthex for those who would like to donate chancel flowers for one or more worship services in 2018.

SPRINGDAY LUTHERAN

The Rev. Warren L. Smith is the presiding minister Sunday at Springdale Lutheran Church, 1061 Mahood Road, West Sunbury. Smith is a prospect for a temporary pastor.

The church council meets at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 9.

ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN

St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., has Holy Communion at the 6 p.m. Saturday and 8 and 10:15 a.m. Sunday worship services.

The church and office will be closed Monday.

The bell choir will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The sanctuary choir will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

SUMMIT PRESBYTERIAN

Summit Presbyterian Church, 181 Caldwell Drive, has a 9:30 a.m. Sunday worship service. There will be no small group Bible studies or coffee fellowship.

The church office will be closed Monday, and there will be no meeting of the women’s group and the men’s study Monday.

There will be no Tuesday women’s Bible study.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, has a Christian Education ministry meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

The monthly women’s Bible study will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 4 at the church.

VALENCIA PRESBYTERIAN

Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., Valencia, will ordain and install new elders and deacons during the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service.

Lunch with the Bunch has been postponed until 11:15 a.m. Jan. 7 in the fellowship hall.
