Falcons roll past Forest

A-C Valley placed four players in double figures Wednesday night in a 56-41 boys basketball victory over Forest.

Brendan Price had 15 points, 11 rebounds and six steals for the Falcons (4-4) while Dalton Callander had 15 points and five steals.

Jeff Ginn had 11 points and 10 rebounds, Levi Orton 10 points for A-C Valley. The Falcons played without sophomore starter Eddie Stevanus. He was a last-minute scratch with flu-like symptoms.

Norwin 42, C.W. North Catholic 41 — The Trojans came up a point short in the Gateway Christmas Tournament. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for CWNC (3-4).

Shady Side Academy 64, Seneca Valley 62 (OT) — The Raiders (4-2) lost in the first round of the Peter Sauer Classic at Shady Side.

Marcus Might paced SV with 20 points while Grady Munroe drained 23 for the Indians, including a 3-pointer in the extra period.

SV takes on Woodland Hills at 2 p.m. Thursday.

Girls Basketball

Emma Bair had eight points, 15 rebounds and six blocked shots Wednesday night, but Moniteau dropped a 53-30 decision to Punxsutawney in the latter’s holiday tournament.

Izzy Bair led the Warriors with 10 points. Kate Horner paced the Chucks with 19.

Moniteau plays Marion Center at 1:15 p.m. Thursday in the tourney’s consolation game.
