Butler County Historical Society at the Senator Walter Lowrie House Museum, 123 W. Diamond St., has its 10th annual calendar, “Then and Now,” featuring photographs of Main Street from the early 1900s, for $10 at the Senator Lowrie House from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Maridon Museum, 322 N. McKean St., has in its collection Asian art and pieces of German Meissen porcelain. Regular gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, except holidays. Heinz History Center, 1212 Smallman St., hosts “A Very Merry Pittsburgh,” an exhibition featuring artifacts from Kaufmann’s/Macy’s department store, Christmas decorations, and historic toys spanning the 1940s to the 2000s, through Jan. 15. The history center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Children’s Museum, 10 Children’s Way, Allegheny Square, will have Holiday Family Free Day on Sunday and will be closed Christmas y and New Year’s Day, but will have extended hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 26 to 31. The exhibit “Tough Art” continues through Jan. 21. Admission is $16 for adults and $14 for children ages 2 to 18 and senior citizens. Children younger than 2 are admitted free.
