Man deported 3 times indicted
PITTSBURGH — A Mexican man who had been deported multiple times has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh, two weeks after being found in Butler.
Uriel Reyes Espinoza, 26, was indicted Wednesday on a single count of illegal re-entry after deportation, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Pittsburgh.
According to prosecutors in Pittsburgh, Espinoza had been deported by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents three times before, in 2008, 2012 and 2014.
The indictment comes after Espinoza was found in Butler on Nov. 28, according to a press release announcing the single charge.
Prosecutors say Espinoza faces a maximum sentence of two years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both.
