Sanks nets 26 in Knoch win

Julian Sanks dropped 26 points while Jared Schrecengost had 10 points and seven rebounds as Knoch opened the season with a 58-38 victory over Blackhawk at the Armstrong Tournament Friday night.

A 14-3 edge in the second quarter sparked the win, which also featured 11 points from Jesse Fesel.

Karns City 60, Saegertown 41 — At A-C Valley High School, Chase Beighley paced the Gremlins with 15 points and added five assists.

Austin Fahlor and Jacob Friel both scored 12 points and Nolan Riley contributed eight rebounds.

Mars 91, Avonworth 40 — Three players scored in double figures for Mars as the Planets routed the Antelopes at the South Park Tournament.

Robby Carmody had 29 points, Andrew Recchia scored 17 and Connor Amsler 12.

Mars led 27-4 after one quarter.

Seneca Valley 47, Hempfield 45 — The Raiders edged the Spartans at the Hempfield Tournament. No other details were available.

Brockway 67, Union 39 — The Golden Knights fell behind 18-3 in the first quarter at the Brookville Tournament.

Lucas Bowser paced Union with 13 points and 10 rebounds and Luke Bowser added 10 points.

Clarion-Limestone 44, Slippery Rock 37 — Junior guard Logan Croll scored a team-high 13 points for the Rockets, who trailed just 27-25 entering the final period at Grove City’s Kiser Classic.

Nick Wherthey added 12 points and Rod Williams 11 rebounds for Slippery Rock.

Baldwin 34, C.W. North Catholic 28 — The Trojans fell to the Highlanders in this low-scoring affair.

Mike Drambel scored 10 points for CWNC.

Brookville 34, Moniteau 20 — Ethan McDeavitt tallied 10 points for Moniteau at the Brookville Tournament.

Freeport 61, Westmont Hilltop 54 — The Yellowjackets took care of business in the opening round of their own tournament. No other details were available.

Pine-Richland 81, Summit Academy 26 — The Rams jumped out to a 33-7 lead in their own tournament.
