[naviga:h3]Marzolf, Laughlin earn PAC honors[/naviga:h3]
Former Butler YMCA swimmer Mallory Marzolf and Seneca Valley graduate Parker Laughlin have been named Presidents’ Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week in their respective sports.
Marzolf, a freshman swimmer at Chatham College, finished among the top four in three events at the Wooster Invitational recently. She placed second in the 200-meter individual medley in two minutes, 10.10 seconds, fourth in the 100 back in 58.81 seconds and fourth in the 200 back 2:05.96. All three times are Chatham records and top times in the PAC this season.
Laughlin, a freshman on the Washington & Jefferson College men’s track team, won the indoor 800 meters in 2:02 at West Virginia’s Marty Pushkin Classic.

First Baptist Christian School posted a 41-39 boys basketball win over Portersville Christian recently as Aaron Drake scored 14 points, grabbed eight rebounds and had five assists.
Nate Errington added 13 points and Ryan Creatora grabbed 10 rebounds. Elijah White and Caleb Youger scored 10 points each for Portersville.
[naviga:h3]BC3 drops pair at Allegany tourney[/naviga:h3]
ALLEGANY, Md. — The Butler County Community College men’s basketball team dropped a pair of games at the Allegany (Md.) Tournament over the weekend.
The Pioneers fell 108-74 to Allegany despite 20 points from Joel Stutz, 16 from Brendon Record and 14 from Justice Lewandowski.
Record scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the Pioneers’ 101-58 loss to Hagerstown CC. BC3 (1-9) hosts Garrett Community College on Saturday.
