East Butler Presbyterian Church, Ninth and Randolph streets, East Butler, celebrates the beginning of Advent Sunday. There is a Christmas party following worship. Food is provided as well as gifts for everyone.

The elders of Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main Ext., serve Communion at the Sunday service. Sunday school children sing for the first Sunday of Advent and lighting the first Advent candle is part of the service.
