Maridon Museum, 322 N. McKean St., has in its collection Asian art and pieces of German Meissen porcelain. Regular gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, except holidays. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and students, and free for children younger than 8 accompanied by an adult. Guided tours are available with advance notice for no extra charge. Heinz History Center, 1212 Smallman St., will have patriotic activities on Saturday for Veterans Day. The History Center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except holidays. Fort Pitt Museum in Point State Park will honor Veterans Day with patriotic activities on Saturday. “From Maps to Mermaids: Carved Powder Horns in Early America” continues through Jan. 14. Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for senior citizens, $4 for retired and active military, and $3.50 for students with a valid ID and children ages 6 to 17. Children’s Museum, 10 Children’s Way, Allegheny Square, hosts the collection of new or gently used sweaters of all sizes through Dec. 15 for the Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive. The exhibit “Tough Art” continues through Jan. 21. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except holidays. The Children’s Museum will be closed Nov. 23, but have extended hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 24. Regular admission is $16 for adults and $14 for children ages 2 to 18 and senior citizens. Carnegie Museum of Natural History, 4400 Forbes Ave. in Oakland, will have free admission on Nov. 19. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except closed Tuesdays and holidays. Extended hours are until 8 p.m. most Thursdays. Admission is $19.95 for adults, $14.95 for senior citizens age 65 and older, and $11.95 for children 3 to 18.
