A woman who suffered an apparent overdose at a Butler dental office was later found with suspected drugs while being booked into the Butler County Prison, authorities said.

The suspect, Kassandra L. Walker, 32, who has no known address, remains behind bars on $5,000 bail while awaiting a hearing next week on felony and misdemeanor drug charges in the case. She also is being held on a warrant.

City police were called to the dental office for a report of an unresponsive woman. Officers got there and found a medical crew tending to Walker in the back room.

Several employees told police that the defendant had been in the bathroom and lobby and began “nodding off,” according to court documents. Employees took her to the back room, out of concern for patients.

Paramedics administered the opioid antidote Narcan, police said, which revived Walker. She refused further medical treatment.

She turned over to officers seven stamp bags and three empty bags of suspected heroin and two syringes.

She denied having any other contraband.

Police arrested Walker when they learned that she was wanted on a bench warrant issued Oct. 17 after she failed to appear for a court hearing in an unrelated shoplifting and drug possession case.

She was taken to the county prison, where a female correctional officer searched her and found a Suboxone strip and four neurontin pills.

Walker was arraigned on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance by an inmate and two misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance.

She also is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness. A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 30.
