Charles H. Phoebe Sr., 89, of Asbury Heights, formerly of Glade Mills, Pa., passed away peacefully Wednesday.

Born Nov. 9, 1927, he was the son of the late Grace and Charles Phoebe.

He was the beloved husband of Patricia Phoebe for 66 years; the loving father of Charles H. (Susan) Phoebe Jr., Holly (Peter) Feiler, Amy (the late Paul) Schuldner and Jay (Sandra) Phoebe; cherished grandfather of 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Charles was an avid gardener, a master gardener from Penn State. He was a judge at the Butler County Farm Shows for 4-H. He was a University of Pittsburgh graduate with a degree in engineering. He worked his entire career for Gulf Research.
