Old Stone House’s Spooky Stories will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 28. Festivities include stories, dramatic readings, face painting, an apple cider press demonstration, candle dipping and sugar cookie decorating. Admission price is $8 per person, with a cap of $30 for families of four or more. Children under 4 are admitted free. Maridon Museum, 322 N. McKean St., plans a Harvest Moon celebration on Oct. 21 at Butler Country Club. Cash bar will begin at 5:30 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres at 6 p.m. and dinner stations at 7 p.m. Reservations for the black tie-optional event are $100 if made by Friday and $125 after Friday. Harmony Museum, 218 Mercer St., Harmony, has tours that include the 1809 main museum building and wine cellar and a neighboring early 19th century house, both built by the communal Harmony Society, and a Mennonite log house, offered from 1 to 4 p.m. daily, except when the museum is closed Mondays and major holidays. PITTSBURGH

Heinz History Center, 1212 Smallman St., will host the sixth annual Hometown–Homegrown™, a food expo, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The History Center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Fort Pitt Museum in Point State Park presents “From Maps to Mermaids: Carved Powder Horns in Early America” through Jan. 14. Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for senior citizens, $4 for retired and active military, and $3.50 for students with a valid ID and children ages 6 to 17. Children’s Museum, 10 Children’s Way, Allegheny Square, displays “Tough Art” through Jan. 21. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except holidays. Carnegie Museum of Natural History, 4400 Forbes Ave. in Oakland, will have free admission on Oct. 15 and Nov. 19. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except closed Tuesdays. Extended hours are until 8 p.m. Thursdays. Admission is $19.95 for adults, $14.95 for senior citizens age 65 and older, and $11.95 for children 3 to 18.
