Three arrested in Butler drug raid
Narcotics officers and police seized nearly an ounce of crack cocaine, other drug materials and more than $6,000 in currency during a Monday night raid of a home on Fairground Hill Road in Butler.
Butler County Drug Task Force officers also arrested a woman who lives at the house and two men, both Philadelphia natives, who were allegedly dealing out of the home.
The takedown culminated a joint investigation into narcotics trafficking in the Butler City and Butler Township area, said county Detective Tim Fennell, who heads the drug task force.
Charged are Nafis A. Brown, 24; Anthony L. “Ace” Williams, 27; and Chelsey L. Schlagel, 22. All three defendants are being held in the Butler County Prison.
Fennell said that during the investigation, the task force used a police informant to set up a controlled drug buy last month with Brown. He is accused of selling heroin to the informant Sept. 27 on Eighth Avenue in Butler.
Found at the home, documents said, was a book bag, which allegedly belonged to Brown and contained approximately 24 grams of crack, $5,380 in currency and drug packaging materials.
A full report will appear in the Butler Eagle.
