Man places second in park photo contest
CAMP HILL — Middlesex Township resident Steven Sybert captured this image of ducks at Parker Dam State Park, and his serendipitous photograph took a second place, popular vote, in the category A Bit of Whimsy in the 2017 Through the Seasons Photo Contest.
The Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation sponsored the contest.
In addition to A Bit of Whimsy, the PPFF contest included categories for Dogs in the Outdoors, Fun in the Outdoors, Nature's Colors, and Young Photographers.
All photographs had to be taken in a Pennsylvania state park or forest. Judging was done by popular vote online and by a panel to choose critics' choice winners.
The winning photographs may be viewed in the gallery at the Foundation's website, www.paparksandforests.org, as well as in PPFF's Fall 2017 newsletter.
Sybert's photograph, along with the other winning entries, will be part of PPFF's traveling photo tour, which will be on display at many locations across the state in 2018, including the Capital Building in Harrisburg.
