A Beaver Falls woman, charged with leading police on a high-speed chase and almost hitting two people, pleaded guilty in Butler County Court on Monday.

Amy Barr, 30, pleaded guilty to felony fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, misdemeanor recklessly endangering another person, summary driving on a suspended license and accidents to unattended vehicles or property before county Judge William Shaffer on Monday.

She is scheduled for sentencing on Nov. 2

Barr was initially charged with felony fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, recklessly endangering another person, possession of display documents, possession of drug paraphernalia, summary driving on a suspended license, operating without a valid inspection, accidents to unattended vehicles or property, reckless driving, failing to yield in a construction zone and driving without insurance after the incident on April 8.

Cranberry Township police said Barr's vehicle was seen by an officer on Powell Road, passing the police cruiser in the oncoming lane with an expired inspection sticker from 2014.

The officer turned around and attempted to stop the vehicle, which then sped off southbound on Powell toward Freedom Road, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

The chase continued into a construction site at Powell Road and Valley View Drive where the road was restricted to one lane with alternating directions of travel in the single lane, and the vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign being held by a construction worker and was close to hitting the worker.

She car speeded through the work zone and sideswiped a work vehicle parked along the edge of the road, police said.

The vehicle continued south on Powell and turned left onto Mystic Pine Trail, where it continued through a church parking lot at a high rate of speed and almost struck a 3-year-old walking through the lot, police said.

The vehicle then stopped and two people ran off down a gravel trail that leads back toward Freedom Road, police said.

Both were arrested. Barr was identified as the driver and was found to have a suspended driver's license, no valid insurance, no inspection, and the license plate on the vehicle did not belong to that car, police said.

She also was found in possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Bail was set at $25,000, then reduced to $10,000 unsecured, and she was released.
