Members of the Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company held a ceremony to commemorate the events of 9-11 on Monday morning.

According to the company, a group gathered and was led in prayer by chaplain Jim Cole before Joseph Bailey of Cranberry Township sang the national anthem.

Cranberry firefighter John Pristas played “taps” periodically at the company's 9-11 memorial, which is located at its Route 19 fire station.

Pristas played the song at 8:46 a.m., 9:03 a.m., 9:37 a.m., 10:07 a.m. and 10:28 a.m. to commemorate each plane crash and the collapse of the last tower.According to the company's website, the 9-11 memorial was dedicated in 2012 on the 11th anniversary of the tragedy, and it is open to the public “24 hours a day, seven days a week.”The flag was taken down Monday evening at sunset.
