10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Bees and Beekeeping open house, Kildoo picnic pavilion.

4 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Crayfishing. Meet at the Hells Hollow Trail parking lot. Dress for the weather, take water and wear sturdy shoes.

4 p.m. Sept. 8 is the deadline for submissions to the McConnells Mill Heritage Festival amateur photography contest. For contest details and entry forms, visit www.tammybauder.com and click the Heritage Festival tab at the top.

7 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 30, Owl Prowl, Kildoo pavilion. Take a flashlight and dress for the weather.

MUDDY CREEK TWP — Moraine State Park, 225 Pleasant Valley Road, has scheduled the following programs:

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 8, Go Paddle Your Own Canoe workshop at the Moraine Outdoor Center, North Shore. Advance registration is required. To register, call the park office at 724-368-8811.

1 to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 9, Marvelous Monarchs, Pavilion 7, McDanel’s area, North Shore.

11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 9, Muddy Creek Oil Well living history exhibit, near Route 528. Explore a restored oil well in operation. The Muddy Creek oil well is an award-winning restoration site of an antique oil well.

9 to 11 a.m. Sept. 16, Shannon Run Paddle. Meet at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 2251 Prospect Road, Prospect. Advance registration is required, and registration opens Sept. 4. To register, call the park office at 724 368-8811.

8 to 11 a.m. Sept. 26, Warblers and Waterfowl bird hike. Meet under the Route 528 Bridge.

CRANBERRY TWP — Bill Fronczek, president emeritus of the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum, will visit the Cranberry Public Library, 2525 Rochester Road, at 6:15 p.m. Sept. 13 to discuss the trolley routes that ran through Cranberry Township in the early 1900s — the Harmony Line and the Butler Short Line.

The program is free, though donations will be given to the Trolley Museum to help refurbish car 115. Registration is required.
