CRANBERRY TWP — In celebration of National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day Friday, the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Pittsburgh-Cranberry gave away cookies to the community and first responders.

The hotel chain gave cookies to people who stopped by the hotel in Marshall Township throughout the morning and Lance Rihn, general manager of the hotel, delivered cookies to first responders in the area in a show of appreciation.

“Everyone has been really surprised,” Rihn said, as he dropped cookies off with Fire Chief David Mack at Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company.

DoubleTree hotels are known for giving warm chocolate chip cookies to each guest upon check-in, Rihn said, so it was fitting way to celebrate National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day.

They also delivered cookies to Cranberry Township police and EMS, Mars police, Adams Township police, Adams Area Fire District, Quality EMS and first responders in Marshall and Wexford.
