Man charged with indecent assault
A Winfield Township man was arrested this week and charged with having inappropriate contact with two children under the age of 13.
Michael J. Steinhiser, 40, is charged with two counts each of felony corruption of minors, felony unlawful contact with minors, indecent exposure, open lewdness, photographing obscene materials and one count of indecent assault.
According to the criminal complaint filed by state police, a child forensic interviewer talked to the two victims separately about their alleged contact with Steinhiser.
The children said that Steinhiser had taken nude photographs of them with a cell phone on multiple occasions and that he had one of the victims “slide down his belly” while his pants were pulled down, according to the complaint.
The alleged offenses were from May 21.
He was arrested Wednesday and remains in Butler County Prison on $250,000 bail. He is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on Aug. 8.
