The Butler County Sheriff's color guard won first place in the annual competition held at the Pennsylvania Sheriff's Association conference held at the Pittsburgh Marriott North hotel last week. Sheriff Mike Slupe, who hosted this year's conference, praised his four deputies — from left, Erik McCall, Bret Hancher, Matt Setnar and Brandon Huffman — for winning first place honors two years in a row. The color guard has a deputy holding the United States flag and another carrying the Pennsylvania flag while flanked by two riflemen.
