County officials say that the need for donations of clothing for families and individuals affected by last week's flooding on Butler's West End has been met, and are asking people to hold onto any items they were preparing to donate.

Butler County Commissioner Leslie Osche said that currently donations — which had been organized by a group of volunteers and began Saturday — were being kept at the Center for Community Resources while emergency relief officials coordinate between different agencies and create a system to help direct people to the services they need.

Osche said that officials from the county and various volunteer and emergency relief organizations, including the United Way, which runs the Butler County Emergency Relief Initiative, would be meeting this afternoon to discuss how to continue to connect flood-affected families with agencies that provide relief services. She said that more information on those efforts would be made available Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning.

“Ultimately, at the end of the day, CCR will be the final contact,” Osche said.
