'Superstar'
FRANKLIN TWP, Beaver County — The Red Barn Players’ second show of the season will be the musical “Jesus Christ Superstar.”
Performances are set for 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and July 13 to 15 and 20 to 22 at the Red Barn on Route 288, the Ellwood-Zelienople Road.
The 1970s rock opera is loosely based on the Gospel accounts of the last week of Jesus’s life ending with the crucifixion. It highlights political and interpersonal struggles between Judas Iscariot and Jesus that are not present in the Bible narratives.

Also featured is Zach Malinak of Slippery Rock as Simon.
Other cast members include Alivia Leyland of Harmony; Larry Stevens and Patty Stevens, both of Butler; Noah Welter and Phoebe Costanza, both of Cranberry Township; and Hopi Myers-Arrigoni, Jacob Craig and Keyera Zarembinski, all of Slippery Rock.
This show will be directed by Jessica Patterson of Monaca, with musical direction by Brad Townsend of Pittsburgh.
Tickets are $15. Reservations are available by calling 724-773-7150.
