Shooting course offered
BUTLER TWP — Butler County Community College is offering a series of basic pistol shooting courses for civilians designed to teach safety and marksmanship.
The classes will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 7 at the main campus in Butler Township; and from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 8, at the Litman Range Facility off Route 8.
The two-day basic pistol training is being led by Michael Pearson, a training sergeant with the college’s campus police and a certified National Rifle Association instructor. Pearson also served as a firearms and tactics instructor in the Air Force and has been a police officer for 25 years.
