6:22 p.m. Sunday — Justin D. Ratelle, 28, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Georgia Smith, during a domestic dispute at their apartment in the 300 block of West Jefferson Street.
Smith told police that Ratelle kicked her in the left side of the ribs and punched her in the left side of the head. She suffered a red lump on her head near the temple and rib pain.
Ratelle was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and placed in the Butler County Prison on $45,000 bail.
Friday — Richard J. Dortman, 56, of Butler was charged with drugged driving stemming from a two-vehicle accident at West New Castle and West Cunningham streets.
Police were called after the driver of a vehicle drifted forward at a red light and rear-ended the car that Dortman was driving. While obtaining information from the defendant, an officer noticed he kept “failing in and out of consciousness,” according to court documents.
Police suspected he was impaired on drugs. He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital after failing filed sobriety tests.
Toxicology reports subsequently showed Dortman had codeine and morphine in his system, documents said. He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
[naviga:h3]Butler Township Police[/naviga:h3]
1:03 p.m. Friday — No one was injured when a wheel came off one vehicle and struck another one on Greenwood Drive.
The freak accident happened as Shane Slater, 19, of Slippery Rock was traveling north on Greenwood Drive. The driver’s side front wheel fell off, according to a police report, and hit a southbound vehicle driven by Carmen Wilkerson, 64, of Beaver, Pa.
Slater’s vehicle had to be towed.
1 a.m. Friday — Frankie L. Deluca, 22, of Butler landed in trouble with the law after police found him with suspected marijuana while investigating a disturbance call at a home in the 200 block of North Duffy Road.
Deluca is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness.
12:20 a.m. Thursday — Two Butler County women were caught with suspected marijuana and other contraband following a traffic stop on Route 68.
Charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia are Samantha L. Kidd, 26, of Renfrew and Aleesha N. Gaiser, 24, of Connoquenessing. Police also cited Kidd for driving without a license and driving an unregistered vehicle.
8:06 a.m. June 26 — Delores J. Kennedy, 60, of Prospect ran a red light and collided with another vehicle at Whitestown and South Duffy roads. Denton Dailey, 60, of Butler was the other driver.
Police cited Kennedy for failing to stop at a red light.
[naviga:h3]Slippery Rock Police[/naviga:h3]
1:40 a.m. Friday — Denise V. Moesta, 39, was arrested after she allegedly assaulted her boyfriend, Ryan Conner, during a domestic dispute at their apartment in the 300 block of West Cooper Street.
Conner told police that he and his girlfriend were arguing when she pushed, choked and struck him several times in the face, according to court documents. Officers noted that the alleged victim’s face was red and he had red marks on his neck.
The defendant, however, claimed Conner grabbed her by the arms and pulled her into a “bear hug,” police said. She said she later ran out of the home and yelled for help. But police in charging documents said Moesta had no immediate visible injuries to substantiate her account.
Moesta was arraigned on a charge of simple assault. She is free on her own recognizance.
7:30 a.m. Friday — A Wisconsin man was arrested for drunken driving on South Main Street near Kiester Road. Police said they pulled over Jamal A. Idow, 21, of Milwaukee after they saw his car cross over the center line two times.
The arresting officer reported smelling a “strong odor” of alcohol coming from the vehicle and on Idow’s breath, according to court documents. He also appeared intoxicated and failed at least one field sobriety test before he declined further testing.
A breath test showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.141 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.
Idow is charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license-DUI related, driving with a blood-alcohol level of 0.02 percent or greater while his license is suspended, driving without a license and failing to keep right.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Butler[/naviga:h3]
6 p.m. Monday — Alana Grey, 25, of Slippery Rock was arrested after she allegedly stole a woman’s dropped wallet at the Giant Eagle Plaza in Slippery Rock.
The 56-year-old victim, of Pittsburgh, dropped her wallet outside the Dollar Tree store. Police said Grey picked it up and took it home. She is charged with theft of lost property.
Thursday — Dennis R. Crisman, 37, of Butler was charged in connection with a June 19 disturbance at O’Donnell’s Beer Distributor on Route 68 in Oakland Township.
Crisman is accused of assaulting the boyfriend of his former girlfriend, with whom the defendant shares a son, according to court documents. He allegedly punched 37-year-old Daniel Neff in the face.
Crisman is charged with simple assault and harassment.
4:23 p.m. June 28 — James A. Fleischer, 35, of Butler was caught with suspected marijuana and other contraband after being arrested on a warrant at the Clearview Mall in Center Township.
Police said they found a small quantity of marijuana in one of his pockets as well as a metal socket containing suspected marijuana residue.
Fleischer is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Police had nabbed the defendant on an arrest warrant in connection with a misdemeanor assault case May 18 in Center Township. He was arraigned June 28 on charges of simple assault and harassment, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.
