A 30-year-old Butler man was found dead Wednesday evening of a suspected drug overdose at his home, authorities said.

Marc A. Blodgett was pronounced dead at his house in the 300 block of East Brady Street. Butler County Deputy Coroner Larry Barr, however, said it appeared Blodgett had been dead for “at least a couple of days.”

An autopsy was performed later that night but a cause of death is still pending results of toxicology tests, which won’t be available for several weeks, Barr said.

Blodgett’s brother found him in the bathroom. Another family member notified authorities about 5:30 p.m.

Police said they recovered from the home items of drug paraphernalia, including a loaded syringe and crack pipe.

In an ashtray in the living room, said Butler police Deputy Chief David Adam, police found an unknown “crystal substance.”
