BUTLER TWP — The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department will host events this week at Alameda Park, 184 Alameda Park Road.

Fitness in the Park Mondays will offer yoga at 5:45 p.m. and Zumba at 7 p.m. Monday at the Carousel Shelter. The sessions are rain or shine. Cancellations are announced on Facebook. For fee information, call 724-284-5383.

Alameda Story Adventures for children 6 and younger will be from 11:30 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Rotary Shelter. This program is free and no registration is required.

The annual rummage sale at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and June 17.

The event will include a bake sale and other food will be available for purchase.

BUTLER TWP — My Top Dog Training will present two classes at the Lions Shelter of Alameda Park, 184 Alameda Park Road.

The clicker class will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday. The class will continue on Thursdays for six weeks.

The basic obedience class will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 19. It will continue on Monday evenings for six weeks.

[naviga:h3]Author coming to Zelie library[/naviga:h3]

ZELIENOPLE — The Zelienople Public Library, 227 S. High St., will host author Mary Hogan to speak about her book, “The Woman in the Photo.” The program is at 1 p.m. June 17 at the library.

The novel tells the story of two women, one a well-to-do Pittsburgh socialite in 1889, the other a working girl in present day California. A photo taken during the Johnstown Flood links the two women in surprising ways.

Hogan will be joined by Susie Huber of the Cambria County Historical Society who will speak on recent findings about the South Fork Hunting and Fishing Club.
