Students at Broad Street Elementary School were evacuated and transported to Emily Brittain Elementary School after a gas smell was detected at the school's playground. The students will remain at Emily Brittain Elementary School until dismissal at 3:30 p.m.

Students at Broad Street Elementary School were evacuated and transported to Emily Brittain Elementary School around 1:30 p.m. after a report of a gas smell near the school's playground.

A People's Gas employee was investigating the property and no other buildings or homes were evacuated. The Broad Street pupils, who are from the temporarily closed Summit Township elementary, will stay at Emily Brittain until 3:30 p.m. Dismissal.

Nothing was detected and the school will resume as normal tomorrow, a district employee said at 2 p.m.
