LYNDORA — Butlerpex 2017, the 71st annual stamp and postcard exhibition, will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Tanglewood Center, 10 Austin Ave.

The Butler County Philatelic Society is hosting the event. There will be stamp exhibits, dealers, a kids’ table, post office, auction and food. Admission is free.

Sing Hosanna! will present “Disney’s Aladdin Jr.” June 17 and 18 at the Succop Theater at Butler County Community College.

Butler Art Center plans its spring show May 24 to June 17 in the main gallery.

A reception is set for 7 to 9 p.m. May 26.

A Small Works art show is set for May 26 to June 17 in the Mezzanine Gallery.

Regular gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

[naviga:h3]JazzLive fest planned[/naviga:h3]

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust will present the Pittsburgh JazzLive International Festival June 16 to 18 in the Cultural District.

The festival kicks off with a ticketed performance by David Sanborn at the August Wilson Center on June 16 and closes with Latin group Spanish Harlem Orchestra June 18.

[naviga:h3]Accordion fest set in Mercer[/naviga:h3]

SHARON — The National Button Accordion Festival is May 26, 27 and 28 in Mercer County.

Featured instruments at the Apollo Maennerchor Club will include the diatonic button accordion and the piano accordion. Many music genres will be showcased that guests can dance to, including polkas, waltzes, country, boogie woogie, Texas two-step, foxtrot and Latin beats.

Hours are 5 to 10 p.m. May 26, noon to 10 p.m. May 27, and 12:30 to 9 p.m. May 28. Admission is $10 on Friday and $12 on Saturday and Sunday. Weekend passes are $25, and children under 13 are admitted free.

[naviga:h3]Meadowcroft open for season[/naviga:h3]

AVELLA, Washington County — Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village, 401 Meadowcroft Road, has opened for the season.

Meadowcroft includes the Rockshelter, site of early human habitation, plus a 16th century eastern woodland Indian village and a historic village featuring elements of everyday family life in the mid-19th century.

Throughout May, Meadowcroft is open Saturdays, from noon to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.

From Memorial Day through Labor Day, Meadowcroft is open on Wednesdays through Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m., and on Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.

Admission is $15 for adults, $14 for senior citizens, and $7 for students and children ages 6 to 17.
