Butler County Community College's softball team earned the first Region XX championship in the program's history with a 4-2 victory over Anne Arundel (Md.) Community College at Seton Hill University on Sunday.

Noel Pfabe led the Pioneer offense with a pair of doubles, two runs scored and one batted in.

Kristen Karcher tripled and Saydie Moore doubled with both players driving in a run.

Codi Reed earned the historic win by striking out four and walking one while allowing two runs over five innings. Jessi Reed was credited with the save after pitching the final two frames.

The Pioneers (20-3) will now play in the district tournament this weekend on Long Island.
