This is how the Butler County Government Center will look once its exterior beige panels, which are deteriorating, are replaced. The county commissioners have authorized seeking bids to do the work, which is estimated to cost between $2.9 million and $4.5 million. County officials expressed safety concerns about the panels, which have rusting rebar inside. One of the panels had to be reattached after becoming unsecured. A construction crew Monday, April 17, 2017, works on the Pennsylvania State Department of Transportation’s $5.5 million project replacing Cox’s Corner, the intersection of Saxonburg Boulevard and Ekastown Road, in Clinton Township with a roundabout a little farther west. Cox’s Corner is a fork in the road with an uphill slope obscuring the view to oncoming traffic. A roundabout is a circular junction in which traffic flows in one direction around an island.
