MARS — Mars Area Primary Center will offer pre-kindergarten assessments for the 2017-18 school year Thursday and Friday.

The program is for students registered for the 2017-2018 kindergarten program at Mars Area Primary Center and their parents. Kindergarten is open to children who will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1. Registration packets are available from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday to Friday in the school’s main office, 547 Route 228.

Students will be assessed on fundamental skills such as letter and number identification and writing. The event will inform parents and teachers of a student’s readiness for kindergarten.

MARS — The Mars High School guidance office will offer a financial aid information night at 6 p.m. Thursday at the school, 520 Route 228.

Wendy Dunlap of the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency will discuss the latest headlines and trends, Web resources, financial aid basis, scholarships, federal and student aid, loans, forms and financial aid award letters, among other items.

The program is for students in grades nine to 11 and their parents.

CRANBERRY TWP — A Zumba Thon to benefit Relay For Life of Cranberry Township will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center, 2525 Rochester Road. Registration will begin at 6 p.m.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life raises money to support programs, services and research.
